Claveria: Between 1923-1924, Facundo enlisted with the U.S. Army in the Philippines, he trained soldiers at Purong Kasabangan in Buhi. He had been stationed at Ft. McKinley (Bonifacio) in Manila, during the Japanese Occupation. It was rumored that Facundo was one of the casualties in the Japanese-aerial bombing of their mess hall where he was on kitchen detail (KP duty) about the 8th or 9th of December 1941. Facundo's name is now engraved in the 'Missing Wall' similar to the Vietnam War Memorial Wall at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes Graves) in Taguig City. |
